The NHS enforces a zero-tolerance policy on violence and abuse. To protect staff, patients, and others, the practice reserves the right to immediately remove violent patients from its list. Violence includes both actual and threatened physical harm, as well as verbal abuse that causes fear for a person’s safety. If a patient is removed, they will be notified in writing, and the details of the removal, along with the circumstances, will be recorded in their medical records.
