We have changed the way we issue prescriptions that are NOT sent to the patient's nominated pharmacy.

From 10th June 2020 almost all prescriptions will be signed and sent electronically (no signatures are required).

Patients will receive a green prescription token that will need to be scanned by the pharmacy.

Our reception team are able to reprint lost tokens. In exceptional circumstances the pharmacy may be able to locate and download the electronic prescription without the token.

You can nominate or amend a pharmacy via online access (https://systmonline.tpp-uk.com/2/Login) or contact our reception team on 01536526526.

You can now contact the surgery via Engage Consult, a new online system. It can be used for non-urgent issues both administrative (24 hours a day) and medical (07:30 - 09:30), without the need to telephone the surgery. You can gain help and advice from your mobile phone, tablet or computer. Your queries will be reviewed by the most appropriate person and will be answered within one working day.

A change has been made to the way Summary Care Records are made available. Where a patient has not previously expressed a preference with regard to their Summary Care Record, both the core and additional information will be included in a patient’s SCR by default.

When the additional information is uploaded for a patient, the clinical system will automatically make an auditable entry in the patient’s GP record.

Additional information includes:

  • significant medical history (past and present)
  • reason for medication
  • anticipatory care information (such as information about the management of long term conditions)
  • end of life care information (from the SCCI1580 national dataset)
  • immunisations

More information is available from the NHS Digital website:

Due to the current situation, please DO NOT come into the surgery. If you need us, please telephone instead between 08:00 - 18:30. Anyone with fever, new persistent cough or change or loss of the sense of smell or taste should self-isolate for 10 days. Please follow the latest government advice for self-isolation and social distancing: CLICK HERE

You can request a test on the NHS website: https://www.nhs.uk/ask-for-a-coronavirus-test

More information is on https://www.nhs.uk/conditions/coronavirus-covid-19/. We are doing the best we can to protect our patients and our staff and we appreciate your understanding in these challenging times.

Germs can live on some surfaces for hours. To protect yourself and others:

  • Always carry tissues with you and use them to catch your cough or sneeze.
  • Bin the tissue, and to kill the germs, wash your hands with soap and water, or use a sanitiser gel.
  • Avoid touching your eyes, nose and mouth with unwashed hands.
  • Avoid close contact with people who are unwell.
  • If you develop symptoms of cough, fever or change/loss in sense of taste or smell, you should immediately:
    • Stay at home for 10 days
    • Ask your household to self-isolate for 10 days
    • Visit NHS 111 online service to get individual advice on further course of action

This is the best way to slow the spread of almost any germs, including Coronavirus.
